January 21st Cle Elum Ranger District Grooming Report
Hi everyone, some good news, not much, but some. This last week we
had some new snow. On Table Mt. we got all of our routes groomed,
except those effected by the logging operations in Cougar and Lion
gulches. Snowshoe ridge still does not have enough snow to groom.
Haney / Devils gulch route is being groomed to the end. The snow is
cold enough to roll and groom but it is not cold enough to set up well.
When I was grooming out past Haney there were six sleds out there, the
route after I groomed looked good, it groomed well, but the sleds beat the
moguls right back in. The Teanaway ridge and North Fork Teanaway
were groomed yesterday. In the lower elevations ( below 4000ft ), after
1:00 pm it warmed up to in the upper 30's and lower 40's, I was able to
groomed it still but it was starting to get sticky. We are grooming
Keechelus Ridge today through Sat, and Table Mt. Saturday.
